Rules

  • All competitors must be amateurs as defined by The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews.
  • All competitors must hold an official handicap held at their nominated home club as stated upon entry.
  • Competitors are put into categories at registration. There are 4 handicap-based categories, A to D, for Men, Women and Juniors (boys & girls).
    Men Cat A, 0 - 5 Cat B, 6 - 12 Cat C, 13 - 19 Cat D, 20 - 28
    Women Cat A, 0 - 7 Cat B, 8 - 16 Cat C, 17 - 25 Cat D, 26 - 36
    Juniors Cat A, 0 - 7 Cat B, 8 - 16 Cat C, 17 - 25 Cat D, 26 - 36
  • To be eligible for entry your scores must come from qualifying competitions (Medal or Stableford) from your home club or nominated secondary club. Scores from Open Competitions (Medal or Stableford) and County events will also be accepted.
    Note: If playing in Opens etc, Real Open Golf will have to be informed of the Competition name, course played and date, with contact details of the organiser.
  • If a score cannot be verified you will be informed before it is removed from the Leaderboard.
  • If you are under 18 years of age at the time of entry, you pay the Juniors subscription. If your 18th birthday occurs during your subscription year, you will be upgraded to Adult membership at no extra cost, but should you qualify, you will play as an adult at the Real Open Grand Final.
  • You may submit as many scores as you wish, as long as they adhere to R.O.G. Rules
  • Only your four best scores will be displayed as a cumulative figure on the R.O.G. Leaderboard.
  • Subscribing to Real Open Golf as an Adult or Junior gives you a year's membership from the date of payment, regardless of the season dates.
  • The 2008 season will run to 31st December, with the Final to be contested on May 9th 2009.
  • The top 100 Players will go through to the final. Breakdown of the top 100 will be as follows: MEN - top 10 in each category. WOMEN - top 7 in each category. JUNIORS - top 8 in each category.
  • Qualifying numbers in categories are subject to change depending on membership.
